Lighthouse Drive in Mears, a 45-minute drive north from the White River Light. Situated in Silver Lake State Park, a Recreation Passport or state park day pass is needed to access this light. The beautiful brick White River Light, built in 1875, is situated along a manmade channel between Lake Michigan and White Lake. It was decommissioned in 1960 and opened as a museum in 1970. Today, visitors can climb to the top of the tower and wander the museum and grounds. The North Breakwater Lighthouse is across the street. The North Breakwater Light and Big Sable Point Lighthouse are two iconic stops right here in Ludington. The North Breakwater Light is ranked #1 in Michigan to visit to watch the sunset, plus from there you can watch the arrival/departure of the S.S. Big Sable Point is listed on both the State and National Registers of Historic places. For convenience and security, we have removed all old key locks and switched to digital code locks.
Stearns Park is a focal point in Ludington, located across the street from Ludington Beach House. Here you can enjoy the sandy shoreline, a grassy area with plenty of picnic tables and grills, a playground, skate park, mini-golf, volleyball and shuffleboard. Or take a walk on the pier out to Ludington's Lighthouse and enjoy our beautiful sunsets. Ludington Beach House has 39 units with studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and 3 bedroom units available on the beach.
Stearns Park is the most popular beach, with FREE parking, concessions, playground, Skate Park, mini golf, and shuffleboard. This 410′ ship carries up to 620 passengers and 180 vehicles. Onboard you can play Badger Bingo, watch a movie, shop, or enjoy a meal in one of their two restaurants.
